Context
A Congolese composer, choir conductor, researcher and educator, founder of a choral music academy, has an international body of work and career scattered across videos, press articles and documents. The AKTO platform turns it into a digital hub: showcase, reach an international audience, ease access to content, train and, in time, sell.
Challenge
Building a real platform from a reference mock-up and a brief, with no unsourced claim: every published figure, title or distinction must be traceable, and no media may be re-hosted or monetised until rights are confirmed. All of it strictly bilingual, on a database that denies by default.
Approach
- 01Three-sprint phasing: showcase and catalogue, then training academy, then shop and premium content with card and mobile money payment.
- 02Bilingual showcase over fourteen routes: biography, sourced key figures, career, catalogue of works, distinctions, events agenda, video gallery, press review and publications, contact, user accounts.
- 03Data model in versioned SQL migrations: 14 tables, 13 enumerated types, 32 RLS policies, trigger-fed audit log, invariants guaranteed in the database (a published work requires a source).
- 04Tooled quality: strict TypeScript, FR/EN key parity checked by test, 287 Vitest tests including cookie-based RLS tests, Playwright, dated build journal and status reports.
- 05Product safeguards: public video embeds only in the first sprint, no payment before the catalogue and merchant account are confirmed.
Results
Platform delivered and in production: showcase and catalogue populated (21 works, 10 distinctions, 31 press and publication references, 25 videos), user accounts and contact form operational. Final adjustments completed with the artist; academy and shop planned as extensions.
